Thanks for the info, I guess I'll try a different program or upgrading my DivX. What program is good for watching videos? Right now I'm using Windows Media Player.

Go to www.divx.com for the last release of the DivX codec. Besides, they come with a player, The Playa, which works better than Windows Media Player for some people (it only supports DivX files, so you'll have to use WMP for the others).
Also, can you be more specific on your problem when watching videos? Do they stutter, run out of sync, look pixellated, etc.? Videos sound simple and look simple, but digital video playback is not the easiest of tasks, even in todays PCs. Something wrong in your hardware configuration and/or OS could cause problems you notice best on video playback, rather than in games or other software.

When I'm watching a video the characters will talk or a gun will shoot but the sound won't happen until a couple of seconds later and sometimes it will skip frames.

that also happens when your comp is low on memory. Try restarting the comp or add more RAM.

Then that is enough. In fact, speed is also a factor, but, who nowadays, doesn't have a 700 Mhz processor at least or 64 megs of Ram?
Also Internet connection uses a HEAVY amount of resources. Kaza, and download managers use to slowdown a lot the system. I'd diconnect from Internet and i'd free as much resources as i'd be able to. such as closing background programs, or closing I-net connections before playing a file.
